In Review of a Good Weekend Trip

Yesterday we got back from a weekend trip to Illinois-I never knew any state could possibly grow more corn than us in Ohio, but I was wrong. We visited our bestest friends the Douglas Family and had a wonderful time!

While we were there I decided to be a picture taking sleuth person, because in my opinion pictures are much better when the people don't know you're taking them. Otherwise you get this fake barbie doll smile deal eh? Anyway, the pictures are very blurry, but it's kinda funny.

The boys were tooooo easy, all crammed into one room playing video games.

Anna listening to some conversation the boys were having while eating the yummy breakfast she made for all of us which was like..17?

Giant praying mantice that the little kids discovered

Little kids torturing said mantice.

It was a fun trip, and I learned how to load a dish washer, tune a guitar, and make food. I know I'm 16 I should know all that already right? Oh well, if there weren't some of us who are behind who would be ahead??

TTFN!-Em

P.S. Check my other blog for notebook sketches I made on the way!

  3. Hey Em, I was wondering... what is the story behind your fascination with penguins? I read this story to my littles today called Your Personal Penguin. I found that Davy Jones from the Monkees sings a song to it online. Here's the link if you want to listen to it. It's pretty cute. www.workman.com/boynton Just scroll down about 2/3 of the way on the page.

  4. my penguin history is a very long story! And kind of weird. Even before everyone started going nuts for penguins, you know the penguin era where there was like 5 or 6 penguin movies right in a row, and people started wearing a bunch of penguin clothes, and penguin bumper stickers and everything! I liked penguins way before that!(alot of people think I picked up a trend I can't let go of lol) Anyway, when I was littler my mom was reading this book about different personality types, it told about sanguins, melancholies, cholerics, and flegmatics, Mom said I was definitely a sanguin, because I like being around people, and I like to talk, and talk, and talk, you know what I mean?
And I've always been like not very heat resistant, I can't stand the heat, even like high 70's is too hot for me! So Cody made this comment about how I must be a penguin because I'm sanguin-which is pretty close sounding to penguin-and I can't stand the heat, well it just sort of stuck. And we had all these black and white cats-like 5 i think-and weirdly I was always wearing black and white with all those black and white cats herding around me lol! I guess it probably looked pretty funny. Anyway,i kind of got attached to them, they're pretty cute, and friendly looking don't you think?
